ASCII lists the 3 rarest MSX computers

Celebrating the 30th anniversary of MSX, ASCII Corporation Japan published several articles on the MSX computer. One of these interesting reads lists the 3 rarest MSX computers according to ASCII. Did you know the General Paxon PCT-50, which was built into a TV set and therefore king of screen shots, or the Mitsubishi ML-T2SH, which was targeted at the telecommunication and stock trading needs of the 1980s businessman and came with a phone hand set. Perhaps you did, indeed, but how about the Oyama Industry MX-2021 which was created specifically for factory automation?

Best Homebrew MSX Game megapoll

Back by popular demand is the MSX Resource Center Megapoll™. After 30 years of MSX we thought it was time to find out which was the best amateur/homebrew MSX game released so far. At this very moment you can send in the titles of the MSX games you think should win (or at least compete) in this forum topic. Nominations and on April 13th, 23:59CET. IDEGFX & source released

Argentinan MSX user Flyguille has been developing an extensive suite of graphics utilities called IDEGFX. An initial version of the toolkit, including its source code, have now been released. Contents include a tiles & metatiles editor, sprite editor, map editor, metatiling chart editor and a toolkit to create your own graphics library.

Muffie's Tutankham
& conversions - cartridge release

In 2008, Brazilian MSX developer Muffie releaed several ports of classic Colecovision and SEGA SG-1000 games for MSX. Thanks to French MSX user Eric Boez these games are now getting a limited, chrome cased cartridge release.

Montezuma's Revenge
Pepper II

SymbOS Tetris & 4-in-a-row

SymbOS is the jaw-breakingly impressive multitasking GUI shell for MSX (and Amstrad!). Thanks to the efforts of Edoz you can now enjoy two games while browsing files, pictures or playing MP3 files casually on your MSX computer. Tetris and 4-in-a-row. 

A SymbOS port of Chuckie Egg is expected to be released in the future.

fMSX 3.8

Marat Fayzullin has released a new version of fMSX, the groundbreaking MSX emulator that paved the way for many ports and other emulators. This edition adds support for tape images and fixes a bug in 5th/9th sprite handling.

MSX @ Atlanta VCFSE 2.0

Like last year, MSX is going to be represented at the Vintage Computer Festival Southeast, in Atlanta, Georgia (USA). The booth will be a bit larger than last year and on display will be, amongst others, the Zemmix Neo console.

MSX easter egg in Metal Gear Solid 5?

In the recently released Metal Gear Solid 5 'preview' Ground Zeroes one can find a tape labeled Classified Intel Data. On it is what sounds like a program that can be loaded from tape on an MSX computer. Will we unravel the complete mistery?

Flappy Birds ports for MSX are coming!

With the popularity of a smart phone game this retro it was only a matter of time until someone decided to port it to MSX. Actually, there are several attempts ongoing at the moment, including promosing in-game video footage.
