• CELEBRATING THE 80TH BIRTHDAY OF DUTCH PIANO PLAYER, COMPOSER AND CONDUCTOR REINBERT DE LEEUW
Reinbert de Leeuw can be seen as one of the best Erik Satie performers. His perfect timing and feeling for Satie’s music comes alive on the Early Pianoworks Volume 1. During the seventies, he applied himself with great success to the interpretation of the music of the ‘forgotten’ composer. He approaches him in slow motion, best to be heard on the long version of “Gnossiennes”.

Dutch composer, pianist and conductor Reinbert de Leeuw rose to fame during the ‘70s, with his performances from the repertoire of George Antheil and Erik Satie, among others. Later he was the artistic leader of different orchestras and academics. On the occasion of his 70th birthday, Reinbert de Leeuw was decorated with Knight of Order of the Netherlands Lion. Besides he won different music awards.
