In de negentiende eeuw werden concerten afgesloten met virtuoze toegiften, zodat het publiek reden heeft om te applaudisseren. Samen met pianist Enrico Pace brengt de succesvolle violist Leonidas Kavakos vijftien geliefde toegiften zoals van Igor Stravinsky en Pablo de Sarasate die in Parijs werkten. Het programma wordt vervolgt met een Spaanse inbreng van Francisco Tarrega en Manuel de Falla. Kavakos speelt werken van Nicolo Paganini, waaronder zijn variatie op het Engelse volkslied. Kavakos geweldige vioolspel is verder te horen in werken van Henryk Wieniawski, Richard Strauss, Erno Dohnnanyi, Benjamin Britten, Edgar Elgar, PyotrTchaikovsky en Antonin Dvorak. Ruim vijf kwartier smullen van ultiem vioolspel, waarbij Kavakos getuigt van een grootste techniek op zijn Abergavenny Stradivarius uit 1724.
