Some weeks ago, we sneak previewed our way to celebrate thirty years of MSX. The Microcomputer & Related Culture Foundation now officially invites you to the Thirty Years MSX Event (TYME) which will take place on November 23rd 2013 in the Dokzaal in Amsterdam, The Netherlands! The party starts at 7pm and lasts as long as you want!

The main feature of the night will be a stunning performance by West Side Trio, an innovative string trio whose members are also part of the Metropole Orchestra, and Zanne, a video jockey particularly specialized in creating visuals for live events.

Their tribute to thirty years of MSX is a wonderful audiovisual show in which many well-known MSX themes such as Dragon Slayer 6, Illusion City, Metal Gear, SD Snatcher and L'Affaire are going to get a new and fresh interpretation. The Dokzaal is a former church hall, which only adds to the magic already promised.

But there is more! Long time MSX regular wolf_ presents a unique collaboration with Carola Cortenbach, a Dutch female singer who you might have seen performing on The Next Pop Talent. Together they take us on a musical journey dedicated to our beloved 8bit computer system. Curious what this is all about? Join in TYME!

Visitors to the Nijmegen MSX fair are already familiar with the famous MSX quiz. We are proud to announce this quiz is also coming to TYME! In a great atmosphere at the Dokzaal café we are going to have some beers and test each other's MSX knowledge with, of course, some nice prizes to win!

And what about our Open Podium? The Dokzaal is a very suitable venue for presentation and we dare you to make an appearance yourself. Maybe you want to publicly remember the good old days, share a nice story or tell an interesting anecdote, get on stage and shout! You are an active MSX developer and would like to share your project with an enthusiastic audience? Please join in! You want to sell some merchandise? TYME is the time to do so.

In short, on November 23rd 2013 the Dokzaal in Amsterdam will breathe MSX all over. Not only because of the many activities but also because of the whole ambience: there will be lots of merchandize available for you to enjoy and also RKLOK is going to be present again with his awesome arcade cabinets. Talking about arcades, Sander van Nunen has already been working for months on genuine MSX tabletop arcades (!!) which he is going to show at TYME. It's an absolute joy watching these.

Most important of the whole evening though is you, MSX lover by heart. In the end, the only true reason to organize TYME is to get together in the knowledge what thirty years of MSX meant and means for us all and just enjoy it. Therefore we hope to see you in Amsterdam.

TYME is a private party and we ask you to register. By signing up for the event you will also be visible on the confirmed registrations list. If you don't want to be known, please register as Anonymous. Of course, admission is free.

Be sure to make video recordings there, and try to get the pro music recorded in a pro way... Wolf works at a shop where they sell the needed equipment (I bet he even has the needed stuff himself Running Naked in a Field of Flowers )... One can't let this pass and leave the rest of the world with a shakey video and built in mic so the ambience and noise take over the actual music... This needs to go into video history in a good way Smile

Please don't disappoint the people who can't go (incl me).

To all attendees, please bring some cash money this time. No possibility for electronic payment. Beer and snacks are not for free. Prices are nowhere near commercial though and therefore very reasonable.

What time does it start now? Latok said 16:00 previously but Sander wrote 19:00.

In earlier newspostings 4pm was never mentioned. I only assumed 4pm in a reaction. But this newspost, Manuel, in the first paragraph reads 7pm.

At what time does the last planned event end? Since I have some stuff I can not afford to miss in the evening but there is a slight chance I can drop by around /after midnight...

Main features will be around 8/9pm already. We understand not all visitors plan to stay in Amsterdam over the night and need to catch a train home....

7pm... oh, that's late. So, it's a very short party? (That's a pity!)
