Het is alweer enige tijd geleden dat het definitieve Bobby Bland overzicht, de driedelige serie The Duke Recordings, uitkwam, dus hoogtijd voor een nieuwe bloemlezing uit het geweldige oeuvre van de soul-blues man op het Duke label. Hoewel zakelijk gezien toegeschreven aan labelbaas/maffiosi Don Robey, was het Bland zelf die verantwoordelijk was voor klassiekers als I Pity The Fool, Two Steps From The Blues en vele, vele anderen. Essentiele muziek.
