Een sleutelmoment in de geschiedenis van de popmuziek is natuurlijk het Woodstock festival gehouden in 1969 in Bethel NY. Iedereen kent de beelden, de wanorde in de organisatie, het traag op gang komen van het festival, de hoogtepunten: The Who, Janis Joplin, een uitzinnige Sly & The Family Stone en natuurlijk de afsluitende act Jimi Hendrix. Hij moest na het beruchte noodweer spelen toen iedereen onder de modder en de slechte acid zat. Deze 6CD set is de meest uitgebreide versie die leverbaar is en kent alle hoogte (en diepte-) punten.
