A 2LP zoetrope edition of the Glass Animals debut album "Zaba" - each side features unique jungle and animal illustrations that move along as the vinyl spins.

Reissue of Glass Animals' critically acclaimed debut album "Zaba" on Zoetrope vinyl - following the unprecedented success of their last album "Dreamland" and lead single "Heat Waves," which spent 59 weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100. Each side was masterfully designed by Zoetrope specialist Drew Tetz using the iconic album artwork originally created by Micah Lidberg.

The title "Zaba" comes from singer Dave Bayle's favorite childhood tale, William Steig's "The Zabajaba Jungle," a wonderful fantasy world of childhood adventures full of exoticism and exploration.

"The sound of the record," says Dave, "is like a backdrop of man-made wilderness." It reverberates with the stories that take place there. They draw inspiration from dystopian fantasies and dark scenarios like "The Island of Dr. Moreau," "Heart of Darkness," "Apocalypse Now," "African Queen" and "Mosquito Coast." The songs on "Zaba" skirt around the humanization of nature as much as the human impact on it.

Inspired by Kanye West and Charles Darwin, Nina Simone and The Velvet Underground, "Zaba" has become a diverse, richly textured and undoubtedly very opinionated work. With the freedom to improvise and work at their own pace in Paul Epworth's studio, the album's sound has become bigger, brighter, heavier and more intense than anything the band has done before.
